I moved here in June of 2012 some time after my first husband had died. Lou and his first wife moved here in 2013 and then she later passed on after a lengthy illness.
Lou and I began dating and then got married in 2017. We each sold our respective condos here and although we did look at other condo communities in the area, our decision was to buy the Villa condo with the optional second floor Grand suite together in Liberty Grand.
It is a friendly community! We have lunches and dinners together with friends, and I maintain all of the addresses, phone numbers, and emails of the residents to make it easier to coordinate social events.
Liberty Grand is accessible and convenient to everything we need. It’s a very convenient location to many places, such as Voice of America, Union Center, and Liberty Center. Liberty Center (open for 2 years) is one mile away and has amazing shopping, bars, musical entertainment and restaurants.
We love the layouts of the homes and their design – it is a perfect, livable arrangement. We have less home maintenance living here, especially with outdoor maintenance and exterior repairs. The HOA fee is very reasonable and it also includes water and sewer, which is a very nice benefit.
Our home was already built but not totally completed before we purchased it. We changed the upstairs loft into a guest bedroom, with a full bath, huge storage closet, and sitting room. It works great when we have people come stay overnight. We had hardwood floors installed, changed some light fixtures, and added the refrigerator.
It was easy to work with the people at Liberty Grand. They were very flexible; any suggestions we made were acceptable to them. We added fencing around the patio, which was not standard, but they had no problem doing it.
They are flexible and focused on making sure that their customers get what they need.
In my case, it is the overall layout of the rooms. I like the way everything is designed. The master bedroom is in a separate area from the rest of the home. Typically in this floor plan, the guest bedrooms and bath are on the other side of the home, which gives you privacy. By turning the loft into a guest bedroom we have even more privacy.
We look over the lovely pond with a fountain. We have a nice patio that overlooks it.
It is a perfect layout from the immediate outdoor area all through the house. Our kitchen is large with a long counter, giving us room to entertain.
Drive around in here anytime and ask people you see how they like living here. Everyone is friendly and will talk to you or help you.
